It has been my absolute privilege to coach three wonderful women who are currently rowing their boat Liberty in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. We worked hard on mindset and teamwork to prepare them for up to 50 days of non-stop rowing.

There should have been a fourth member rowing who unfortunately had to pull out due to medical reasons. However, Linda has been supporting the crew every day from the land.

The team has amassed a great deal of sponsorship from a number of companies and organisations, not least the band Coldplay. They can all be seen here.

As I write they are over halfway across the 3000-mile epic journey across the Atlantic on Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge 2019. Having set off on 12th December 2019 from La Gomera in the Canary Islands, they have 920 nm to go!

Despite a very rough start for all the 35 crews, the ladies have courageously stepped up to meet their challenge due to end on the Caribbean Island of Antigua. To date, they have experienced storms, battled 30-foot waves, flying fish, and more. However, their fitness, determination and mental resilience is second to none and they continue towards their objective.

These driven ladies, Bird, Mo, and Claire each have their personal reasons for doing the challenge and are raising money for three charities close to their hearts. The charities are Cornwall Blood Bikes, CareFree, and Exmouth & Lympstone Hospice Care.

If you can find it in your heart to donate a little, or more you can on the following link: Oarsome Foursome Challenge.
